Company History
In 1970, the company was
founded under the name
„Andreas Schilling Medizintechnik“, and began developing and
producing surgical instruments. Gradually, the company specialized
more and more in the electro-chemical marking of medical
instruments. Over the years, the Microdot and Laser marking techniques
were further developed to round up the product pallet.
Since then, Schilling’s various marking
techniques are used by many different
industry sectors around the world, such
as the automobile and aeronautical
industry, advertising material, kitchen
utensils, the tooling industry etc.
Today, Schilling Marking
Systems GmbH has over 20 employees and 28 successful distribution partners
worldwide! Of course, we always trade and decide by the premiss: Sustainable
business – that is to say, that over the long-term to economically remain in
competition in the global market and to maintain high standards of ecological
care and social justice.

Development and production of surgical instruments for the urology and gynaecology, as well as drill fixtures.

First trials of electrolytic markings for the own production. Later
successful development, production and sales of electrolytic marking devices, special machines and long-life stencils.
Relocation to the new company building in Foehrenstr. 47, Tuttlingen. |

Extension of production facilities. |

Introduction of EDP (electronic data processing). |

Purchase of the first CNC milling machine. Constant expansion of the
workshop. |

Sudden death of Andreas Schilling Sr.(founder of the company). Andreas
Schilling Jr. becomes MD of the company. |

Development of the first microprocessor controlled Etching Machine
S2000. |
| 1989 |
Change of company title from "Corp." to "Ltd." (GmbH). |

New structure and formation of the sales department. New offices in the upper
floor of the building in Foehrenstr. 47. Development and sales of the second generation of Etching Devices. |

Development and sales of the first lamp pumped solid state Laser Marking
Machines. |

Development and sales of the first Microdot Marking Machine (dot-peen /
pin-marker). |

Begin of the development of a new Windows Software Programme to control the
Microdot Machine. Introduction of Quality Management and the first certification according to DIN ISO 9001. |

Development of new Microdot Systems. |

Development and sales of diode pumped solid state Laser Marking Machines
(DPSS).
Purchase of 3D software programme "SolidWorks" for Research & Development. |

Development and sales of laser safety cabinets with automatic Z-axis. |

Development and sales of rotary fixture for the Laser models. Programming of
Scripts. |

Planning of new company building and purchase of the land.
